Act 1

Opening Image: The commercial space tug 'Nostromo' hauls a massive mineral ore refinery in deep space. The crew is awakened from their deep slumber in animated suspension.

Theme Stated: "I feel dead."

Setup: The crew, expecting to be back in the Solar System near Earth, discovers they are not home and they've been awakened to respond to a transmission of intelligent origin on a nearby planet. They land on the alien planet and suffer mechanical damage as a result of the hard landing.

Catalyst: A team is sent out to investigate the origin of the transmission. Kane finds a massive chamber filled wit alien eggs. He gets a closer look and an alien creature springs from an egg onto his face throught his helmet.

Debate and Decision: The team arrives back at the airlock at the Nostromo, but Ripley (2nd in command) cites quarantine procedure and refuses to let them back in. There is an argument as they debate whether or not to rush Kane to the medical center. Ash overrides Ripley and remotely opens the airlock door for Captain Dallas.
