About Scripdr

My name is Bryan Ierardi (BryanEye.com) and I am the programmer and "writer" behind this site. Scripdr.com is the result of my own need for a rapid prototyping tool for structuring stories. I've used many different systems to chart the flow of my storylines, but none of them were as effective as I had hoped. This, combined with my wish to be able to quickly reference the different beats of other films, led me to develop this application.

That's not all... I'm also pretty much obsessed with online application development, PHP, MySQL, Ajax, databases, and collecting data. Mix all of these elements together, and what do you get? Scripdr.

The final piece of the puzzle? I absolutely love Blake Snyder's 'Save the Cat' books. I had read quite a few other books on screenwriting, and they were all good and informative. But Blake hit on something with his first book... the way he explained how to break a script idea down into formulaic beats was so concise and to-the-point, I was an instant fan of the method. With each script breakdown that I do, it becomes clearer that the human mind responds to this storytelling structure in a primal (or Pavlovian?) manner .

Closed Alpha Testing

The app is currently in closed alpha testing, which means we're testing it internally along with a few select public volunteers. Our goal is to begin public beta testing in the 2nd quarter of 2009.
